Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 10, 2026

Overview

Clocked is a driving log app for learner drivers and their families. It helps users track supervised driving practice hours and export a printable log.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Clocked collects, how it is used, what stays on your device, and what may be synced to the cloud.

Clocked is built around a local-first architecture. Most session data is stored on your device first, and many core features continue to work without an internet connection.

Clocked is not a DMV service, government platform, insurance product, or legal compliance system.

Information We Collect

Clocked is designed to collect only the information needed to provide its core functionality.

Account and Authentication

Depending on how you sign in, Clocked may collect:

  • Your email address
  • Authentication identifiers from Apple Sign-In, where applicable
  • The state you select during onboarding

Clocked supports Sign in with Apple and email magic-link sign-in. Clocked does not use passwords.

Authentication is handled by Apple and by Supabase, our backend provider.

Driving Session Information

Clocked stores information about supervised driving sessions, which may include:

  • Date, start time, end time, and duration
  • Day or night classification
  • Optional road type
  • Whether a session was logged manually or edited after the fact
  • Indicators flagging overlapping sessions for your review

If you export a driving log PDF, that PDF may also include your driver name, session totals, road type, and any optional weather notes you have added.

Clocked does not collect or store driving routes, turn-by-turn history, speed, vehicle telemetry, or continuous GPS tracking data.

Location Usage

Clocked may request location access when you start a drive.

Location is used for one purpose only: to determine whether a drive occurred during daytime or nighttime hours, using sunrise and sunset calculations for your area.

Clocked does not continuously track your location, store route history, share live location, monitor driving behavior, or sell location data.

If you decline location access, you can manually classify any drive as day or night. Location readings used for classification are processed in memory at the time of the drive and are not stored as location data by the app.

Local Storage and Cloud Sync

Clocked uses a local-first architecture. Information lives on your device first, and may also sync to the cloud when you are signed in.

Stored on Your Device

The app may store the following on your device using SQLite and standard local storage:

  • Your user profile
  • Driving sessions
  • App event records used for diagnostics
  • Active session and recovery state for incomplete drives
  • Temporarily cached PDF files generated by the export feature
  • Local app preferences

Cloud Sync

If you are signed in, some information may sync to Supabase, including:

  • Your user profile
  • Your driving sessions
  • Your purchase entitlement status

Cloud sync is intended as a convenience and a backup. Most core features remain available offline. Because sync is best-effort and depends on network conditions, you should always review your exported logs before submitting them anywhere.

Purchases and Entitlements

Clocked offers PDF export as a one-time in-app purchase.

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Entitlement state is managed using RevenueCat.

Clocked does not directly process or store credit card numbers, payment card details, or Apple Pay credentials. Clocked may store local entitlement information to determine whether the PDF export feature has been unlocked on your device.

You may restore prior purchases on devices associated with the same Apple account.

Diagnostics and Error Reporting

We may collect limited technical diagnostics and error logs necessary to operate and improve the app. These diagnostics help us identify crashes, performance issues, and integration problems.

No third-party advertising or behavioral analytics SDK is configured in the app.

Third-Party Services

Clocked currently relies on the following providers, each of which operates under its own privacy policy and terms:

  • Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, and iOS platform services
  • Supabase — authentication and optional cloud sync
  • RevenueCat — in-app purchase entitlement management and purchase restoration

Minors and Parents

Clocked is intended for teen learner drivers and their parents or guardians. The app is not directed to children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to us, please contact us using the email below and we will work to delete it.

By using Clocked, you represent that you are legally permitted to use the app, or that you are using it with appropriate parental involvement.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to assist with setup, supervise use, and review exported driving logs alongside their teen.

Your Privacy Choices

We do not sell your personal information.

California residents and other users with applicable state privacy rights may contact us regarding requests related to their personal information, including access and deletion requests, by emailing the address below.

Data Retention and Account Deletion

Driving sessions and profile information remain stored:

  • On your device until you remove them or delete the app
  • In synced cloud systems until they are deleted or overwritten

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and improve the app, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.

To request deletion of your account and associated cloud data, contact support@clockedlog.com.

Cached PDF files generated by the export feature may be removed automatically by the app over time.

Security

Clocked uses reasonable technical measures intended to help protect your account and session information. No software system is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will always remain free from unauthorized access, loss, or interruption.

We recommend enabling standard iPhone protections such as a device passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and iCloud backup.

Changes to This Policy

Clocked may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. If material changes are made, an updated version will be posted in the app or on the Clocked website with a revised effective date.
